Turns out that the Bilal video directed by Flying Lotus and starring Erykah Badu that we shared with you exactly a week ago today was, indeed, just a precursor to the anticipated music video direction that we’d anticipated Flying Lotus provide a Badu track.
And “Gone Baby, Don’t Be Long,” the second video from Badu’s New Amerykah, Part II: Return of the Ankh after her controversial “Window Seat” video (and not counting “Window Seat, Part II,” which features Rick Ross and was given a video treatment despite not appearing on the disc), is every bit the visual trip we’d been expecting, featuring Badu rolling down a moving walkway (or is it an assembly line?) in a trippy illustrated futuristic setting. It’s a fitting visual for one of New Amerykah, Part II‘s best tracks, for sure.
