The Fader already posted the above video version of the woozy synth track "Butterscotch" by Faux Fox frontman George Quartz, but it's worth sharing nonetheless. Besides, Fader writer Julianne Escobedo Shepherd took Quartz at his blog's word that he's from Seychelles; someone has to point out that he sure has a lot of interest in the goings-on at Tradewinds Social Club for someone who lives on the other side of the planet.

The video will probably vaguely familiar to anybody who's ever tried to watch scrambled porn at a hotel or on cable TV. So it's probably better not to watch it at work, as the action is unmistakable at times despite the warped perspective and distorted colors. The song is a minimal, hypnotic slow jam, and pairs surprisingly well with the accompanying video. If only we'd gotten this up in time for Valentine's Day!

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
