Michaelmatician maybe one of the most mysterious artists in Dallas. And he’s pretty interesting, too: Instead of going by songs and albums, the electronic perfromer releases material as “sound units.” And, instead of talking to the public, he has an intermediary known as Jeremy Shingles, who researches Michaelmatician like science on his blog, trying to figure out where Michaelmatician is.
To hear Shingles tell it, Michaelmatician is from the future. Or something. Regardless, it makes for a pretty interesting fantasy that’s sure to appeal to fans of science fiction and electro-rock.
But beyond the website and music and a few live shows, it’s been fairly difficult to put a face to Michaelmatician — till now. His first public appearance comes in the form of his music video, which is called “Monitors Off” and is certain to appeal to nerds and Datarock fans. See the music video after the jump.
