Watch: Ty City Makes His Case For Being The Next Local Rapper Worth Keeping An Eye On

We've been hip to local rapper Ty City for some time now, just waiting on something -- anything -- from the local rapper, who talks a big game about his promising future. But aside from the sole track posted to his MySpace page, we've yet to get anything of the sort. Today that changes a little, as friend of the program Josh Romero, whose videos we've shared with you here on DC9 once or twice in the past, passes along a new clip today featuring Ty City offering up an impressive freestyle in front of the Granada Theater. It's a well-shot clip -- and the rap just further entices us to start begging Ty City to finally release some music. Give it a watch after the jump.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
