On Friday, May 21, Doug Burr celebrated the release of his new album, O Ye Devastator, with a performance at Dan’s Silverleaf. it was quite the performance, too, featuring members of Austin’s Monahans (including O Ye Devastator producer Britton Beisenherz).
But part what made the night such a treat–beyond just the fact that it featured a phenomenal display from Burr, as well as a stellar opening set from his trusty sideman, Glen Farris, and a rousing closing set from his labelmates in Telegraph Canyon–can be seen in the above clip.
During its set, Telegraph Canyon was joined on stage by Centro-matic‘s Will Johnson for a performance of its DOMA-nominated “Shake Your Fist.” On record, Johnson, who produced The Tide and The Current, sings backup on the song. In the above clip, you can hear him do so live–for the first and only time.
