Grab your eyeliner, high heels, ruffles and lace, as Dallas transports back to 1984 to celebrate Prince on the big screen, for one night only.

On March 5, Prince fans from around the world will relive the revolution in select Dolby Cinema at AMC theaters, with Purple Rain remastered and reimagined. Boasting ultra-vivid visuals, more depth and even more clarity, fans will experience all the depths of Prince, up close and personal, like never before.

The legendary rock musical drama was Prince’s acting debut, winning the icon an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score, and a Grammy Award for Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture. And now Prince fans, music lovers, and newer generations will have an opportunity to witness The Kid (Prince) in action — experiencing every beat of the film and every guitar riff, unprecedented and electrically unparalleled.

The entire film has been completely upgraded, with the digitally restored picture color-graded specifically for Dolby Vision. The audio in the movie has also been restored from the original Dolby Stereo tracks from over 40 years ago, to complete a faithfully remastered Dolby Atmos audio presentation.

With all of the technical upgrades, the sounds of Prince and the Revolution, Morris Day and The Time and Apollonia 6 will electrify audiences and reverberate throughout the room all night long.

Tickets are on sale now and all showings will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. Here’s where DFW fans can go to experience a bit of the musical magic:

AMC NorthPark 15, 8867 N. Central Expressway
AMC Village On the Parkway 9, 5100 Beltline Road, No. 220
AMC Dine-In Mesquite 30, 19919 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Mesquite

Purple Rain reimagined in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for Dolby Cinema is a celebration of Prince’s genius and enduring legacy,” said Jed Harmsen, head of Cinema and Group Entertainment at Dolby. “Devoted and new fans alike, prepare to be exhilarated by an unforgettable and unparalleled performance from one of music’s greatest of all time.”
