In this week’s paper, Pete wrote of a dirty secret about local music: the rallying cry (“If only people would start supporting the scene, it could grow!”) is the same in every city.
But the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton music scene has some hulking support. In honor of that, DC9 at Night has launched a free concert series, starting last night with rock-blazin, blues-drippin’ locals Kirby Brown and Fort Worth’s Whiskey Folk Ramblers.
To remind you: each month at the Jack Daniel’s Saloon in the Gilley’s complex, we’re going to throw a party. A music party with two local acts, drink specials and ticket giveaways. Did we mention drink specials?

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
