Wild Flag is something of a web phenomenon, gaining loads of notoriety before ever releasing any music. It helps, of course, that front-lady Carrie Brownstein and Wild Flag bandmate Janet Weiss were members of the legendary rock trio Sleater-Kinney.

But now, with their new act, they're taking a different approach, writing garage-pop tunes instead of punk-indebted ones, albeit with the same explosive energy for which they've always been known. They've got a new, self-titled debut on the way, as well as a tour, which will land the band at The Loft on Friday, October 28. Tickets will go on sale for $12 this Saturday at Good Records. Or you can get them right now at Front Gate.

[Update at 1:32: An earlier version of this post mistakenly placed at Hailey's Club some shows scheduled to take place at the Kessler Theater. It also inaccurately dated some upcoming Dada shows. We apologize for the inconvenience. The post has now been updated with the correct information.]

With that, hit the jump for more show announcements, piled high and deep, just like you like it.
