Texas country icon Willie Nelson is bringing his Outlaw Music Festival Tour back to North Texas on Friday, July 3 at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving.
Nelson will be joined by an eclectic lineup of musicians, including beloved indie rockers Wilco, pop-rock icon Sheryl Crow, celebrated country artist Margo Price, and Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson. So, music enthusiasts who pride themselves on “listening to everything,” take notice.
The annual touring concert series is celebrating a decade of highlighting the intersection of rock, folk and country that has defined the almost 93-year-old Nelson’s career and legacy. Past guests have included music legends like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Van Morrison. The announcement comes right on the heels of Nelson’s Luck Reunion festival, which took place last weekend and featured Dallas artists like St. Vincent and Joshua Ray Walker.
It’s worth noting that this year’s Outlaw Music Festival is undergoing a venue change in Dallas. Nelson and friends will take over The Pavilion at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, a slight departure from its past home at Dos Equis Pavilion in Fair Park. Dos Equis is a larger, more established venue and a summertime staple for Dallas music fans, but Toyota Music Factory still has a lawn and, in our opinion, less chaotic parking. We’re confident the folks at TMF will show longtime fans of the festival a good time.
