Independent Journalism in Dallas Needs You
We need to raise $12,500 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
There’s yet another deleted scene from Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan making the YouTube rounds, and this one claims to be from the “Denton County Animal Shelter.” Only, there’s no such thing. That’s what they’ll tell you when you call Denton Animal Control–and they will tell you that with the exasperation of people who’ve clearly had to explain more than once that, uh, there is no such thing as the Denton County Animal Shelter.
“We have no idea where that’s at,” says the guy at animal control Unfair Park talked to yesterday evening. “It says Denton County, but that’s not our shelter. Our shelter isn’t even called Denton County Animal Shelter. We’re the City of Denton Animal Shelter. That lady doesn’t work here.”
No word on whether they found the clip funny over at the City of Denton Animal Shelter; God knows they didn’t find the phone call from us terribly amusing. Us, we found the clip absolutely hysterical–even the 32nd time we watched it. Something about, “Jews are Jesus’ children.” You watch now. Great success. –Robert Wilonsky
