Late last night, Lori Conrad at KTVT and KTXA sent word: Channel 21’s about to launch a music show: The Texas Music Scene (catchy?), which will air on TXA 21 after Texas Rangers Friday Night Baseball around 10:30ish p.m. every week beginning this Friday, matter of fact. But those expecting something from The Texas Music Scene other than the same ol’ song-and-line-dance will be disappointed, if the press release is any indication:
The half-hour program is hosted by Asleep at the Wheel founder and front man Ray Benson. It will feature interviews with and performances by prominent — as well as up-and-coming — Texas musicians including Willie Nelson, George Strait, Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly, Kevin Fowler.
I’m just gonna say it now: Cross Canadian Ragweed‘s from Oklahoma.
