Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
A co-working Friend of Unfair Park sends word that tonight at 10 p.m., WFAA-Channel 8 will have an interview with Ryann Rathbone, Carter Albrecht's girlfriend, about the events leading up to his death two weeks ago today. Apparently, ads promoting the segment have been airing on Channel 8 this afternoon.
I also noticed on Ryann's MySpace blog today that on October 20, Albrecht's friends are putting on a tribute concert at the Granada Theater. Writes Ryan, "We expect to spend this evening celebrating the wonderful talented musician, Carter Albrecht...and more importantly the loving man who loved me, his parents and his friends way more than any spot light and adoring fans could ever give him." The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Carter Albrecht Music Foundation. --Robert Wilonsky
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
