Jim Trulock, co-owner of Duncanville’s Cherry Pit

No doubt you’ve read Mike Fisher’s September 17 cover story about the Cherry Pit; more than a month after publication, the swinging tale out of Duncanville remains a big hit. If you somehow missed it, well, you might wanna bone up on the story, as co-owner Jim Trulock’s trial is currently underway. And while we’re not on the scene, KTVT-Channel 11’s Bud Gillett is live blogging the whole sordid affair. And, moments ago, he posted this update following opening arguments: “Duncanville City Prosecutor Kim Lafferty told jurors the issue is not about sex, but about an unlicensed business … The first witness is the city code inspector who witnessed the sex business that led to two of the ten counts.” Sex business — there’s a band name, right there. –Robert Wilonsky

Update: Guilty! And I imagine it went down something like this.
