Earlier this month, Dallas City Council member Mitchell Rasansky — or, as he’s referred to around the big table at the Hall of Justice, the Calculator — asked to see how the city’s investments were faring during the Great Recession of 2008. This morning, during the council’s Finance, Audit & Accountability Committee get-together at 9:30, he gets his answer. Incidentally, the total market value of the city’s portfolio, or that pie you see at top, is $1,721,755,577.35. Which is $1,721,755,500.35 more than I’ve got at present, so there’s that. –Robert Wilonsky
