My wife–who moved to Dallas in 1997 after having lived in Miami, Phoenix, New Orleans and Los Angeles–has said one thing since moving here: Dallas drivers suck. Now she has the empirical data to back her claims: According to this story, which uses data provided by Allstate Insurance, Dallasites get into more car wrecks than any other folks in the state, with residents of Carrollton, Grand Prairie, Garland, Irving and Mesquite also high among the state’s bumper-car people. And the state’s best drivers? Residents of Laredo, go figure. Also, if you check out this recently released Allstate chart, you will find that among the 200 largest cities in the country, Dallas is 14 spots away from being the least safe for those on the road. So, turns out the missus is right. As always. –Robert Wilonsky
