The Cowboys Suck, but the Internet Is Undefeated

"The Cowboys played great defense today," said no one on social media.

Only a precious few of the most optimistic, glass-half-full diehard fans had any hope of the Dallas Cowboys being a serious contender in 2025. Thanks to an offseason that primarily featured team owner and GM Jerry Jones only subtracting from a roster that easily missed out on the 2024 playoffs, it was beyond difficult to envision this team being too terribly impressive.

That lowly expectation has certainly been met. Thanks to Sunday’s embarrassing loss to the still-rebuilding Chicago Bears, the Cowboys seem to be saying “we are who you thought we were” to a nation full of doubters and haters.

With star receiver CeeDee Lamb injured early in the game, it’s not surprising to know the offense had a hard time, but somehow the defense on Sunday looked even worse than it did last week against the New York Giants, when it looked absolutely horrendous. While there are a million reasons social media is a key factor in how the world will eventually come to a rather gruesome end, there’s no arguing that it’s good fun after yet another humiliating defeat of the Dallas Cowboys.
