When she walked out of President Donald Trump's speech before Congress earlier this month and said he was "spewing all kinds of nonsense and bullshit," we cheered. What's true is true, and we didn't want to watch the speech either.
When in January she got called to step outside by Nancy Mace, a GOP congresswoman from South Carolina, during an argument over Crockett's defense of trans people ... well, we're not saying we wished she had taken up the offer and beat the cheese out of Mace. Violence is bad — also almost always. Let's just say we respect Crockett's willingness to fight against anti-trans bigotry.
Last year, she referred to MAGA firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's “bleach-blonde bad-built butch-body.” That's skating close to body shaming, but Greene started with personal insults, and it's hard to be unfair when saying anything terrible about Greene.
But then comes this, as reported by rightwing website The Daily Caller:
That's right, she called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been paralyzed from the waist down for four decades and gets about in a wheelchair, "Governor Hot Wheels."🚨WATCH: Rep. JASMINE CROCKETT calls Texas Governor Greg Abbott "Governor Hot Wheels."

“Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there. Come on now,” Crockett said at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles Saturday, Politico reported. “And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot ass mess, honey.”
Oh, yes. She did.
Out here in the not-political world, that's the sort of crack that these days would win you a long chat with HR and probably a few hours of sensitivity training if not outright firing. It also violates a cardinal rule that people who were raised right learn as children: Don't mock people with disabilities.
In Crockett's case, her comment lends aid and comfort to her political enemies. "Jasmine Crockett Is Tacky and Classless, and I Encourage This" is the headline in the conservative National Review.
Beyond the political damage done, mocking someone's disability also makes Crockett look like an asshole. You know, like this guy:
So, please, Rep. Crockett, do your friends a favor and mind your manners.
