This weekend the Doubletree Hotel Dallas-Campbell Centre will host the annual Dallas Southern Pride extended-dance-mix weekend, for which organizers are expecting some 10,000 members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender “community of color.” Oak Lawn will be crowded too, with copious parties scheduled throughout the weekend. Here’s the full schedule of events, but we’re most looking forward to Sunday, when the attendees bring their pride to NorthPark Center from 3 to 6 p.m. for a “take-over” expected to include “DJ music, dancing, shopping, lots of fun.” Which sounds awesome, because as much as I love a parade, I’d much rather dance-shop. –Robert Wilonsky
