Up, up and away with some breaking news concerning Dallas Theater Center’s forthcoming big-deal redo of It’s a Bird … It’s a Plane … It’s Superman: Artistic director Kevin Moriarty has his Man of Steel. We go to the release from the DTC for some info about the Arkansas-born singing Son of Krypton:
Broadway star Matt Cavenaugh will star as the iconic Clark Kent in Dallas Theater Center’s production of the musical It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman, June 18 – July 25, at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
Cavanenaugh’s most recent turn on Broadway was as Tony in the West Side Story revival. Previously, he originated roles in Grey Gardens and the 2003 musical Urban Cowboy.
Update: OK, now I’m starting to think he looks more like Tony Romo.
