The young man you see at right is Daniel Villegas Jr. He is 25 years old, and at this very moment the Dallas Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad is trying to find him. That’s because Villegas “suffers from diminished mental capacity and is unable to communicate verbally or in writing,” according to the DPD, and has not been seen since yesterday, when he walked away from 2718 Rimdale Drive, not far from Eastfield Community College, and hasn’t been seen since.

The police report says Villegas has the “mental capacity of a 7- to 10-year-old child,” and does understand when his name is called and when spoken to. But at some point last night he went into the backyard, never to return. And all he had on was a black T-shirt and blue jeans — no jacket, no shoes. If you see him, DPD asks you call the Missing Persons Squad at 214-671-4316 or 214-671-4268.

Update at 5:10 p.m.: DPD just sent the note that Daniel Villegas was found unharmed.
