Late last week the Dallas Police Department sent word that a passerby had discovered decomposed human remains in a field in the 10000 block of Van Dyke Road, near White Rock Lake. Early this morning, the department said it had identified the body as that of Javier’s popular general manager, Jose “Pepe” Ayala, who has been missing since April 20.

And while there have been myriad theories concerning his disappearance — D suggested in a story in June that he went on the run following an eighth arrest for driving while intoxicated — DPD just sent word that “also found under the remains was a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver with one fired shell casing in the weapon under the hammer.” As such, says the department, though the investigation “remains open and active, the preliminary findings suggest that Mr. Ayala committed suicide.”
