DPD's Also Looking For a Man Who Shot an AT&T Employee Downtown This Morning

This just in from Senior Corporal Kevin Janse in the Dallas Police Department's Media Relations Office:

There was a downtown shooting this morning at approximately 5:50 a.m. An AT&T employee was walking with a co-worker to work at 208 S. Akard when a black male suspect approached complainant and shot her one time after demanding her purse. Suspect is a B/M, late 20's/early 30's, that was last seen on foot. Suspect was possibly involved in two earlier robberies this morning involving purse snatches: 800 S. Akard and 3500 Commerce. This is based on suspect description.

Victim was transported to Baylor hospital in serious condition. [Update: She was shot in the head.] Detectives are working with AT&T Security to see if their cameras caught the offense because it took place out of range of the downtown cameras.
