$10,000

Steve Lundeen of Seattle sent me an e-mail. Said he’d posted more photos of Dallas to the NickDeWolf archives on Flickr. When last we looked, there were 76. But that was last week. Today, the number’s up to a few hundred. And they’re not just of Nick’s trip to the State Fair of Texas in 1977 — though, they’re there too. I especially love the photos of the women showing off the new cars. Steve should consider a book.

This week, though, Steve’s added a second “reel” to the archives — photos from Dallas, Aspen and Austin in ’77. There we find this photo of Honest Joe’s Pawn Shop, one of several. But there are also beautiful aerials (say, that’s LBJ and Stemmons, speaking of); a smashed-can tour of American Iron Metals; a skateboard park (which was … where?) and other landmarks major and minor. Again, my great thanks to Steve. I haven’t gotten any work done all morning.
