Facing the expectations that come with being perhaps the Rangers' most highly touted minor league hitter ever, the third baseman somehow didn't disappoint. He knocked in two runs with a single in his first at bat, hit a two-run homer in his second and doubled off the wall his third time up. It was a perfect, Dallas-Twitter consuming storm. The fact remains that Gallo is still probably about a year short of being major league. He strikes out too much, even in Double A, to be a finished product. He'll likely only be with the big club for a couple of weeks — until Adrian Beltre returns from injury — but last night was damn near perfect.
