Not sure what to think of this press release that just landed in the in-box — the one that says come May 7, I’ll be able to buy a ticket to Iron Man 2 that’ll only cost … what the what? … $22. Ah, but look at what Gold Class Cinemas promises when it opens at The Village at Fairview: “online, reserved seat selection; a fully-stocked bar and lounge; a complete menu of easy-to-eat food [such as] Maine lobster rolls with lemon aioli and Thai chili dipping sauce; and a full-size theater with only 40 plush, reclining armchairs.” Fancy!
Reviews of the Aussie-owned chain‘s handful of theaters are decidedly mixed. Our Seattle sister wrote back in November ’08 that service was awfully slow, which others have repeated since; but Time Out Chicago insists the location there is “splurge-worthy.” There’s a video after the jump for those in need of a trailer before the feature attraction opens May 7. We’ll see. Despite the Collin County location, though, it does seem very … Dallas.
