In Canton, Is First Monday on Its Last Legs? Because Vendors Are Worried.

Maybe you're planning a trip over to Canton this weekend -- it is, after all, October market at First Monday Trade Days through Sunday. No doubt, the vendors there would most certainly appreciate the business, which has gotten so bad in recent months that, this morning, Reuters took notice. And, sure, you'll have to excuse some of the yee-haw-isms in the writing -- " Bubba Bennett, a heavyset seller of tanned cow hides, said he reckoned it is the worst he has seen in 38 years in the trade" -- but there's no obscuring the reality that for many, business is bad and getting worse every day. --Robert Wilonsky
