Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Feel the love, because come a week from today, we're getting dumped. First thing's first, as today Barack Obama's in Duncanville at the Sandra Meadows Memorial Arena on Camp Wisdom; the so-called "Stand for Change" town hall event begins at 4:45 p.m., with doors opening two hours earlier, and while tickets are necessary, RSVPs here are recommended. Obama will also be in Fort Worth tomorrow, at the Fort Worth Convention Center, for a rally scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Then, it's back to Hillary Clinton, who's spending Saturday in Fort Worth and Dallas. Right now, she's scheduled to appear at a “Solutions for America” rally at 11 a.m. in Fort Worth, somewhere in the Stockyards -- nothing more specific than that. Then she'll be in Dallas -- at the Fair Park Coliseum, sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. After the jump, Clinton's brand-new Texas ad, debuting today. --Robert Wilonsky
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
