Dallas Observer investigative reporter Laura Miller will be taking an extended break from column writing so that she can devote more time to her family.
Miller, 38, will remain a member of the Observer staff and will continue to work with other writers and editors. Her weekly column will return to the paper by the end of the year.
Miller has received several national and regional journalism prizes for her work at the Observer, including the prestigious H.L. Mencken Award for her columns, five Katie awards from the Dallas Press Club, and a Dallas Bar Association Philbin Award.
