Tom Leppert and some new friends -- who, looks like, probably voted for the millionaire construction worker
With 320 out of 470 precincts completely reporting, Tom Leppert still has a commanding lead: He's got 57.76 percent of the vote now, which translates to 37,464 votes. Oakley -- who had predicted to The Dallas Morning News a few days back that he'd annihilate Leppert, insisting, "We're going to win this, and the numbers won't be close" -- now has 27,393 votes. And not a lot of time to gain ground. --Robert Wilonsky
