With one day left for folks to bid on a power-nosh with T. Boone Pickens at Nick & Sam’s, figured now might be a good time to check on how the auction’s going to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas. Because when last we left it one week ago today, there was only one pre-approved taker. In the comments, Dan Stuchal, Big Brother Big Sisters’ veep of marketing and communications, did express hope that “the auction escalates in price over the coming week.” Alas, despite the good cause, no one else has stepped up to the plate: One week later, it still sits at the opening bid of $100,000.
Still, it’s a far better deal than this eBay auction: Someone’s trying to unload the domain name “www.thedallascowboys.com” for $1.75 million. That takes some brass footballs right there.
