City Hall

Market, a Great Downtown Street?

Dallas Complete Streets Competition from Andrew Goodwin Brown on Vimeo.

Absolutely, says Dallas filmmaker Andrew Goodwin Brown in the short you see above. It's his entry in the 2011 Dallas Great Streets Visual Essay Contest, which City Hall sponsored in order to find out "what people like about streets in Dallas [so we could] glean some examples we can use for some of our design projects we're expecting to work on," as Peer Chacko, second-in-command in Sustainable Development and Construction, explained earlier this month. Yesterday was the last day to submit offerings.
KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
