At the Trinity River Audubon Center, no less. Either that, or I misread the press release we just received from The White House Office of the First Lady. Awfully smoky in here. Nope … that’s what it says — showtime’s at 1:30 p.m. Says the brief missive: “MRS. BUSH participates in a First Bloom activity with the Jonas Brothers and delivers Remarks at Trinity River Audubon Center.” What, Jessica Simpson have a Mensa meeting? And on the subject of Westlake’s own (?) JoBros, this was surprisingly awesome.
And that last link finally gives me reason enough to post a link to Elvis Costello’s unreleased cover of Wreckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World” recorded in 1977, for which I’ve had several requests since I played it Saturday night (might have been Sunday morning). –Robert Wilonsky
