Party With the Mayor on Lower Greenville Tonight! Or Not. Still, Avi, Take Your Camera?

Mayor Tom’s got plans at 7 tonight: He’ll be at Zubar on Lower Greenville spinning stacks of wax on the wheels of steel under his DJ name MCEO (that’s Patrick “Buzz” Williams’s joke, for better or worse). That, or he’ll be meeting with the Dallas County Young Democrats to discuss “the Convention Center Hotel, the Trinity River Project and the dropping crime rate,” if I read my media releases correctly, and I’d like to think I do. But the DCYD’s communications director, Kurt Watkins, tells Unfair Park this afternoon that all the kids are welcome at tonight’s most unlikely powwow with the mayor. Says Watkins, “I don’t think many people are given the opportunity to listen closely and ask questions.” Especially not over an after-work adult beverage. “It’ll be a good time.”
