A Friend of Unfair Park points us toward the perfect Christmas present for the kid who has everything: his or her own skating rink! Better than a pony. Not as good as a flight simulator, though.

Ten years after former Black Panther Fahim Minkah fought like hell to open Southern Skates on E. Ledbetter Road, the thing’s a going-going-goner. As we said back in May, the city’s owned the rink since 2004 — default! — and has been operating it under the auspices of the Parks and Recreation Department, but on a part-time basis. And since it doesn’t make the dough like it coulda or shoulda, the city’s looking to ditch the surplus property pronto — whether you wanna lease or buy, whatever. Just make an offer no later than January 27. –Robert Wilonsky
