In all my travels through the YouTubes, I’ve never seen this — till today, when it showed up during my search for something else. I don’t know who made it or where it comes from; I assume it comes from one of the myriad Kennedy assassination docs floating around the Internets. I only know it is fascinating, kind of funny and occasionally disturbing, this bizarro snapshot of a Dallas in which Mayor Earle Cabell could offer Major General Edwin Walker an “honorary citizenship in this great city of Dallas.” It’s the Dallas my father remembers — and then tries to forget. –Robert Wilonsky
