The scene from this morning’s shooting in Arizona involving two Dallas firefighters.

Phoenix media outlets are reporting that two Dallas firefighters — 28-year-old Charles Whittaker and 34-year-old Reggie Cueington — were shot early this morning, as they walked from a bar in Peoria, Arizona, to their nearby hotel. Says here they were shot at about 1 a.m. during what appears to be a drive-by, though authorities have no suspect or no motive for the shooting. The Arizona Republic adds that the shooter was in “either a white Crown Victoria or 80s-model Buick.”

The men, in town for the Super Bowl, were air-lifted to a Phoenix-area hospital, where a local TV station is reporting that Whittaker has “life-threatening injuries,” while Cueington has a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to be OK. –Robert Wilonsky
