It seems everyone has something to say about the viral moment a CEO was caught cheating at a Coldplay concert.

It’s not secret that U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and his Republican primary opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, are not exactly buddies. In fact, they seem to detest one another.

We were already prepared for a feisty campaign, but the animosity between the two is sure to keep growing after Cornyn went off on Twitter today. Holy cow, did he go off.

But first, let’s make sure you’re aware of today's viral internet story, one that has dominated all social channels, including and perhaps especially LinkedIn. Tech CEO Andy Byron was apparently caught on the jumbotron during last night’s Coldplay concert in Boston while holding tight onto a woman who has been identified as his company’s HR chief (read: not his wife).

The clip has gone beyond viral. Proof of such virality can be seen in that a senator is getting in on the social media jokes about the alleged affair.
On Thursday afternoon, Cornyn quote-tweeted a post noting that Coldplay would have “camera-free audience sections” at its upcoming shows. His caption was short but damn, was it to the point.

“Good news for @kenpaxtontx,” the post read before adding below that, “See why: http://WhoIsDaveP.com

OK then. So here we have a sitting senator taking a humorous shot at a sitting state attorney general who not only has admitted to marital infidelity in the recent past, but was just handed divorce papers last week. And on top of that, the website Cornyn posted a link to goes to a page filled with less-than-flattering photos related to Paxton’s impeachment trial from 2023, backing a prominent image of the AG wearing Groucho Marx-style “funny glasses,” complete with bushy, fake eyebrows and a fake nose.

It‘s important to note that “Dave P” was the name on the Uber account Paxton used for transportation to various meetings and rendezvous during the time period during which he was alleged to be dealing in assorted bribery, adultery, and corruption.

Below the images is a video telling viewers just who Dave P. is, at least according to Texans for Senator John Cornyn, Inc. and then a long list of Dave P. Uber receipts, and then an extensive timeline of Paxton’s controversies.

This might be the biggest social media haymaker thrown between the two, but it's hardly the first. Over the past year or so, the two have exchanged comments over who is more Republican, and Cornyn once suggested Paxton should not run for office since he would have a hard time governing from prison.

Although Paxton has led in some polls, recent reports show that Cornyn raised $1 million more than his rival last month. If things are this heated now, just wait until we get closer to the Republican primary in March.
