I've had this feeling before.
Oh, say, for example a couple of weeks ago before the 0-2 Dallas Cowboys played the Houston Texans.
I thought it then and I believe it again:
The Cowboys will win this week. In fact, the Cowboys will beat the New York Giants by 10+ points Monday night at Cowboys Stadium.
While the football bandwagon empties in favor of the trendy baseball vehicle just down the way on Randol Mill Road, a few of us still think the Cowboys' dominating stats will, at some point, lead to positive scores.
It starts now. And it may have received a boost from
owner general manager president motivational speaker Jerry Jones.
Desperate to save his team from super bowl-or-BUST, Jones spoke passionately Monday at Valley Ranch.
The message: A 1-4 season isn't over. A 1-4 start can be re-routed instantly with a victory over the NFC East-leading Giants. You can still be who most of us thought we could and would be.
Jones echoed those sentiments on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan:
"I believe we can turn things around," he said. "While the odds are against us we can make all the things happen that we wanted to do this year."
Some of you are going to giggle and guffaw and say the Cowboys are hopeless. I'm not saying the Cowboys are a good team, but they're this close to playing good football.

Being ranked third in overall offense and fourth in defense is a sign of beauty screaming to get out. If the Cowboys were a chick, she wouldn't need Botox and Lipo to be hot, only a slight tweak in the way she applies her makeup. The natural, cornerstone looks are in place.
Some teams win ugly. And some - the 2-4 San Diego Chargers are ranked first in offense and defense - temporarily find ways to lose pretty.
This said, if the Cowboys lose to the Giants via stupid mistakes at crucial times, I'll be the first to pronounce this season a hideous dead and gone.
Ain't. Gonna. Happen.
