The gentleman you see above in the Dallas Police Department uniform is DPD Sergeant Donald McMillion. Next to him, in the Austin PD uniform, is Sergeant Ronald McMillion. In case you hadn’t noticed — and, really, I like to take nothing for granted — they are identical twins, who, for the last 33 years, were police officers in their respective cities.

A short time ago, Senior Corporal Kevin Janse, a Dallas Police Department spokesman, sent word: On Friday at 1 p.m., both men will be retiring. The department is holding a party for them at DPD HQ, at which officers and top brass from Dallas and Austin will show up to mark what Janse calls “a momentous event.” Mazel tov, gentlemen. And I loved your series when it aired on ABC in the ’70s.
