After unloading his tapas bar Rouge on Lovers Lane, it appears Joseph Gutierriz–brought here by exotic motor head Scott Ginsburg to revive the ill-fated Voltaire (and later the big boo-boo Bamboo Bamboo)–has moved back to Phoenix, but not before unloading Tutto on McKinney Avenue for $250K. Gutierriz sold Tutto to restaurant novice Rima Vadiwala and her father Bill, who operates a convenience store and few Super 8 motels in Dallas, Wichita Falls and Oklahoma. Gutierriz’ right-hand chef Roger Cob is now executive chef. Cob has a billiard-ball past of his own, bouncing to Tutto from Avner Samuel’s Aurora, where he was chef de cuisine. Aurora was the endpoint in a long line of Cob-Samuel ricochets that included Yellow, Okeanos, Avner’s, The Joint, Bistro A and the kosher Bistro K. In fact, this is the third time Cob has cooked in this McKinney Avenue building, slinging upscale hash twice when the space was called Yellow. –Mark Stuertz
