Personally, I'm rooting for Snøhetta to get the museum gig -- if only because it designed this building, which is scheduled for construction in the United Arab Emirates. It seems ... I dunno ... very Dallas.

This just in: At 2 p.m Tuesday at the Victory Park Sales Center, reps from the Museum of Nature & Science will announce the architect for its new Victory Park facility at the northwest corner of Woodall Rodgers Freeway and N. Field Street. It'll be a sweet commission: The space will be 150,000 square feet and cost $150 million, of which some $45 million has been raised to date.

One thing we already know: The architect won't be a local, as in May the museum announced the four finalists are Santa Monica's Morphosis (represented by 2005 Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne), Manhattan's Polshek Partnership (repped by Todd Schliemann), Tokyo's Shigeru Ban and Oslo's Snøhetta (repped by University of Texas School of Architecture alum Craig Dykers). And as you no doubt know, the new museum will supplement the existing Fair Park Museum of Nature and Science, not replace it (if you say so). Mayor Tom Leppert and Ross Perot Jr. will also attend Tuesday's shindig, sporting matching grins. --Robert Wilonsky
