Says the piece, Wellspring Capital Management LLC‘s decision to offload D&B’s comes as a surprise to bankers and execs who don’t think the market’s strong enough for such a big-dollar purchase. Wellington paid nearly $400 mil two years ago to take the chain private and first tried to sell the chain last August for about $600 mil, then pulled it from auction when it could find no takers.
