Bliss Raw Cafe, the raw, vegan restaurant in University Park, closed late last week. Paula Sepulvado announced the space will soon be occupied by Be Raw Food, a similar concept run with her partner John Vandelicht. Sepulvado had been eating at the restaurant for the past year and used the space to teach classes on raw food dishes and the benefits of going raw. She's been eating a raw foods diet for 20 years now herself.
Sepulvado purchased the restaurant from Delia Pisarro, who also owns V Spot on Henderson Ave and does not keep a raw or vegan diet herself.
Sepulvado, has been meeting with inspectors throughout the day and hopes to have the rebranded restaurant open by the end of the week. If you're a long-time customer of Bliss, you won't notice many changes as first. Sepulvado purchased the recipes associated with the business and most of the equipment. Over the next two months she hopes to refurnish the space and put in a juice bar.
