DFW Restaurant Week is an annual celebration of North Texas' best culinary lineups and it starts today, July 31.

In the past, the event was a week long each August, but now diners can enjoy deals for an entire month, from Monday, Aug. 4, to Sunday, Aug. 31 with many restaurants offering a preview weekend July 31 and Aug. 3. Just hop on the website and sort by "week participating" to make reservations, which aren't necessary but also aren't a bad idea. You can also use the site to check out menus and specific dishes at all the restaurants.

Every year, its organizers collaborate with more than 100 local restaurants across Dallas, Denton, Rockwall and Tarrant and Collin counties to offer prix fixe meals in a deal benefiting the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Lena Pope, an organization that has been serving children and families for more than nine decades.

In 2024, restaurants in the Dallas area raised $530,632 for NTFB and Tarrant restaurants raised $209,451 for Lena Pope in Fort Worth. Over the last 28 years, this event has raised more than $12 million in donations for its charity partners.

"DFW Restaurant Week plays a vital role in helping Lena Pope provide life-changing support to thousands of children and families each year," said Ashley Barnes, CEO of Lena Pope. "We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the generosity it inspires across our community. When you choose to dine out during Restaurant Week, you're not just treating yourself to an incredible meal, you're helping ensure families in Tarrant County have access to critical counseling, education, and behavioral support services."

The restaurants that are usually highlighted are fine-dining, so when you dine in for these exclusive prix-fixe menus for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, you get a deal for what would otherwise be a splurge for most. The prices are broken down like this:

Dinner: Three courses for $49 ($10 donated) or $59 ($12 donated).
Signature experience dinner: $99 ($20 donated) and an Exclusive VIP experience.
Lunch: Two courses for $29 ($6 donated).
Weekend brunch: Two courses for $29 ($6 donated).

"For every dollar donated through participating restaurants, we can provide three nourishing meals; that's the kind of impact that lingers long after dessert. We're so grateful to the chefs, restaurants, and diners who turn their love of good food into a force for good in North Texas, " said Trisha Cunningham, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank, in a statement.

Al Biernat's, Fearings, Fachini, Nick & Sam's, and El Carlos Elegante are just a few of the restaurants we've seen in the past, but over 140 will be revealed on the DFW Restaurant Week website.

Along with the pre-fixe menus, select event sponsors will do giveaways and special offerings to amplify your dining experience.

When you spend $10 at FedEx, you'll receive a free fourth course at participating Fourth Course Restaurants over the month. Stella Artois is giving away a DFW Restaurant dinner. Mercedes-Benz Plano is giving away a DFW Restaurant Week signature dinner for four. View all the ways to win free dinners and other prizes on the event website.
