The Company Cafe surprised fans of the Katy Trail location by announcing an August 11 closure on Facebook this week. The lease on the space is up and the owners have decided not to renew. The Facebook post reminds customers that all isn't lost, though. The original restaurant is still open.

Company Cafe's original location was recently relocated on Greenville Avenue and appears to be doing fine. Diners are out on the patio, soaking up both the cocktails and the sun, but after nearly five years, the Katy Trail location will shut its doors for good. A tweet that echoed the Facebook announcement was met by sad Twitter followers, with one saying their wedding dinner was held in the soon to be shuttered location.

The Facebook announcement also reminds fans that Back Home Barbecue on Ross Avenue is still open as well. The East Dallas restaurant transformed an old Chinese takeout back and February and remains a work in progress.

Hopefully, Company Cafe's Katy Trail departure will make way for an exciting new restaurant. The building has a great dining room and a sprawling patio. It shouldn't remain vacant for long.
