While we have our own ranked list of the best bagels in Dallas, recently, the Yelp Elite — a special group of highly trusted and active Yelp users — chose the Top 50 Bagel Spots in the U.S. and Canada. They're defined as "users who consistently contribute thoughtfully—thorough reviews, photos, check-ins, answers, and bookmarks" and behave as "role models on and off the Yelp site."
The official Top 50 List was researched and written by two Yelpers based out of the San Fernando Valley, CA, but they ranked each shop based on the volume and ratings of Yelp Elite Squad reviews.
Only one location in Dallas made the cut, and it's not only the only bagel shop in North Texas, but also the only one selected in the entire state of Texas. Woosh. Really?
Dan's Bagels
301 Trophy Lake Drive (Trophy Club)Whose going to tell the Yelp Elite that Dan's Bagels isn't in Dallas? Second question: How many of you could find Trophy Club without plopping it in Google Maps? For both questions, it's worth the drive out there either way. Husband and wife team Dan and Jen Hilbert opened this destination for East Coast-style bagels in 2020, and it has thrived for almost five years. People could have been lining up for their bagel sandwiches since they've opened, but they certainly skyrocketed into the spotlight when rainbow bagels were having their moment on the internet. At the time, they were one of the only shops in Dallas that offered them, and they kept people coming back.
Dan's Bagels also does a blueberry pie bagel that has a bright blue hue. Order it with brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese.
Anisha Holla
No matter the flavor, every bagel is made fresh daily from scratch-made sourdough. There is a near-endless number of flavors offered year-round. Plain, everything, rosemary salt, blueberry pie, cinnamon sugar crunch, gluten-free and jalapeno cheddar to name a few.
For schmears, they have the same roster of everyday: plain, strawberry, blueberry, garlic, cinnamon brown sugar and lox spread, among many others. Seasonally, we've seen peach cream cheese, s'mores cream cheese and a cranberry orange flavor.
Expansion Plans
In 2025, three new Dan's Bagels locations will open in Fort Worth, Grapevine and Argyle. Currently, the only open location is in Trophy Club.Dan's Bagels ranked No. 7 out of 50 on the Yelp bagel rankings. These are top five bagel shops in the U.S. and Canada, starting with No. 5: Grover Beach Sourdough in Grover Beach, CA; Blackhole Bakery in Kansas City, MO; Lily Popp Cafe in Anaheim, CA; Tatiana's Coffee and Tea in Ventura, CA; and Pangolin Cafe in Reno, NV took first place.
