La La Land has a new cafe opening in Southlake, and Good Morning America filmed there Wednesday, July 30, with ABC News’ Will Ganss for its new segment, My Kind of Town. Recently, another Dallas cafe, Full City Rooster, was featured on a series called What Fills Your Cup, also on GMA.

The My Kind of Town series spotlights local businesses and community heroes helping their hometowns. It debuted July 28 in Detroit and highlighted Rebel Nell, a woman‑owned enterprise turning graffiti into jewelry.

The third installment comes to Dallas' La La Land Kind Cafe, which Francois Reihani opened in 2019, combining his love for coffee with a mission to support young people transitioning out of the foster care system.

The cafe offers paid internships for youths entering adulthood. A nonprofit foundation that works with the cafe grants them access to crucial resources, including housing assistance and mental health services. Outside of the cafe, the cafe partners with local businesses and organizations, the most recent being with social media foodie Keith Lee.

Lee joined with the cafe to create the Keith Lee Latte, a matcha-based drink made with double ceremonial matcha, secret syrup, matcha cloud, whole strawberry, flaky salt and matcha powder. All of the proceeds supported relief efforts in Kerr County after the catastrophic flooding on July 4.

La La Land has also partnered with numerous health and wellness brands, such as Lululemon and Nike, BEIS luggage, and even Fossil to create a one-of-a-kind La La Land necklace.

As the cafe's six-year success story continues with Reihani making Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2025 Social Impact, it's clear why GMA wants in on spreading the cafe's motto: "The more we can prove that kindness is the way".
