Merry Christmas, burger aficionados: Burger chain Shake Shack is opening two more DFW locations at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23.
In Southlake, a 3,166-square-foot restaurant is opening at 125 Central Ave., with ample patio seating, the standard Shake Shack menu and "a unique selection of frozen custard concretes in collaboration with local purveyor Emporium Pies," according to a press release. Shake Shack always offers a few "frozen custard concretes" with locally made ingredients that vary by location. At the Southlake spot, you can find the Pie Oh My (Vanilla custard with slice of Emporium seasonal pie), the Crunch Time (Vanilla custard with dark chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallow fluff and salted caramel) and the Choc of the Town (Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks and banana).
In Las Colinas, a 3,638-square-foot restaurant is opening at 7170 N. State Highway 161 with, again, ample patio seating and frozen custard concretes made with ingredients from Emporium Pies and Sugar Ray's Bakeshop, according to the release. The Las Colinas location will also serve the Pie Oh My, along with the Hopscotch (Vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks and chocolate toffee) and the Fluff'N Foster (Vanilla custard with a Sugar Ray's Bakeshop bananas Foster cupcake, banana and marshmallow fluff).
Both locations open Sunday, just two days before Christmas, and 25 percent of proceeds from opening day will be donated to two charities: Kidd's Kids in Las Colinas and Children's Medical Center Dallas in Southlake, according to the release. The first 100 people in line at both locations will also get a free Shake Shack Christmas ornament.
Since opening its first DFW location in Uptown in August 2016, Shake Shack has quickly expanded around North Texas with locations in Preston Royal and Plano, making the two new stores their fourth and fifth locally.
