One of the vendors present was Fort Worth’s Jonathan Young. You might not know him (yet), but you’d be wise to remember the name.
“We thought we brought enough to last the day, but we sold out within a few hours,” Young said, laughing.
You know how Major League Baseball has a top 100 prospects list? If such a list existed in the baking world, Young would be on it. He’s that good. Don’t believe us? Put in an order and he’ll prove it to you.

All baked goods at The Cozy Oven are handcrafted and feature locally sourced ingredients.

“Hearing the stories of his passion for cooking and how much joy it brought him lit a fire in me. The Cozy Oven is my way of honoring the legacy he didn’t get to finish — creating something beautiful and meaningful through food. I truly believe food has the power to bring people together,” Young told the Observer. Young’s father passed away when Young was just 2 years old.
We tried a handful of offerings from Young’s Cozy Oven menu, all sourced with local ingredients when possible and baked to order. Young, who is currently operating out of his home kitchen (though naturally he does have an eye on a future brick-and-mortar), personally handed us our order. It doesn’t take long to see that Young is a radiant young man brimming with good energy and equipped with a smile that would light up any room.
Our order consisted of a mini sourdough loaf ($7), salted caramel cinnamon rolls ($4 each), cinnamon streusel muffins (four for $6) and a lemon blueberry loaf ($18). To say everything was good would be a gross understatement. The salted caramel cinnamon rolls and cinnamon streusel muffins, however, left us mesmerized. Quite frankly, we have doubts we’ll ever experience a cinnamon roll or muffin anywhere else that reaches the lofty bar these set (and that’s not hyperbole).
“The caramel on the salted caramel cinnamon roll is homemade. Served right out of the oven, it’s a treat you just can’t beat. There’s something about the richness of the caramel paired with the warmth of the cinnamon that makes it unforgettable,” said Young. “That item has a special place in my heart.”
For Young, who has already been featured on Shoutout DFW and Voyage Dallas (and also a visit from Miss Texas for America Strong 2025, Laesha Brewer), baking was a side hustle that ultimately grew into a full-time passion in October of 2024.
“What really pushed me to start was my old boss, Cindy Standifer. She believed in me and suggested I go all in. That spark of support turned into something I couldn’t ignore.”
Other items on the menu at The Cozy Oven include traditional cinnamon rolls, double chocolate muffins, mini cinnamon roll bites, cinnamon swirl loaves, cheddar jalapeno bread, banana pudding and seasonal items such as pumpkin pecan bread.
As for the future, Young is dreaming big. And with his talent, why wouldn’t he be?
“I have big goals for The Cozy Oven. What started as a home bakery is something I want to grow into a full storefront, and eventually, a nationwide brand. I want The Cozy Oven to be a part of people’s celebrations, their traditions, and their everyday joy,” Young told us. “I’m just so grateful for the love and support we’re receiving here in Texas. And all of it continues to fuel a bigger dream – and that’s to share The Cozy Oven with the world.”
