If there’s one thing that pops into your head when you look at Claude Gilliland III, the new pastor at the New Heart Family Worship Center in Cleburne, it’s probably something like “It’s a shame to waste such a righteous mustache on somebody who would never ever be involved with porn.”

You’d be wrong.

Gilliland’s appointment as pastor at New Heart has been a flashpoint since it came to light that he’s a registered sex offender who served four years in prison back in the 1990s for sexually assaulting his then-wife. He continues to deny that he did anything wrong but did admit on Sunday to other sins.

“Me and my ex-wife were in porn,” he told WFAA (h/t Frontburner). “We were in the booze and the drugs.”

He said as much during his sermon on Sunday. Thanks be to God that he didn’t share any video. You can watch WFAA’s story below.
